Volunteers must be at least 16 years old; anyone under 18 needs a signed parental consent form. We welcome families and youth groups under adult supervision.

Yes! After each shift, you’ll receive a quick survey for self-reporting your hours. We’ll compile these into a yearly summary you can download or share with schools, employers, or community groups.

We only tap our volunteer pool on an as-needed basis—never more often than we have events or partner requests. You’ll always receive a heads-up and have to confirm before you’re scheduled.

We rely on your support to keep our neighbourhood initiatives running smoothly. If you can’t make a scheduled shift, please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust plans and ensure our partners have the help they need.

Most shifts run between 3–6 hours. You’ll see the exact duration when you’re invited to a role, and you can always let us know if that window doesn’t work.

While previous experience isn’t required, it’s definitely an asset—and it’ll help you hit the ground running. We provide all the training you need in our 30-minute orientation, so even first-timers feel confident.

Yes—orientation refreshes key info each time and ensures you’re up to date with partner-specific guidelines. If you’ve already done orientation recently, simply select “I’ve completed orientation” on the standby form.
